Vijay sets out with his best friend Marta, a Ukrainian refugee, on a perilous journey across space and time to find a cure. Together, they face unlikely enemies and even more unlikely friends and discover the power of love and friendship – and a White Raven.
Vijay is a British teenager, half-Indian, half-English and all mischief. His life is on the cusp, and one more false step could bring disaster. Vijay’s friend Marta is a refugee from Ukraine, her happy life destroyed by the Russian invasion.
We all need a sign sometimes, and for Vijay and Marta it’s a literal sign: a School Crossing signpost. The characters painted on the sign are living beings from a four-dimensional reality, trapped in our 3D universe.
